Golfer Michelle Wie will be going back to qualify at LPGA Q school

The LPGA Wednesday confirmed reports that Wie would have to qualify at the sectional qualifying tournament at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California, east of Los Angeles.

Wie will be making her first Q-school bid, having failed to earn enough money playing on sponsor's exemptions to book a spot in the tour.

Wie's first Q school qualifying tournament will be at Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage, Calif., site of the Kraft Nabisco Championship, where Wie played in the final group of the LPGA's first major when she was in the eighth grade and 13.

Her DAD,B.J. Wie said at the U.S. Women's Open that she had no other choice but Q-school if she didn't make enough money to finish the equivalent of 80th of the LPGA Tour money list.

Michelle Wie's golf game was seriously hurt with her obsession in trying to make the cut for a PGA men's golf tournament. Her failure to make the cut at any PGA men's golf tournament put added pressure on Wie and her golf swing detoriorated due to wrist injuries from having to swing unnaturally to keep up with the men's game.

Many people feel that her father has negatively effected Michelle Wie's golf game by having her focus on making PGA cuts instead of playing in LPGA tournaments where she clearly has the talent to win.
